Yeah Red Hot Chili Peppers are wicked
I personally like Green Day, The Killers, Blink 182, The White Stripes and The Raconteurs (based on their first release... i wonder if the albums good)
Areosmith, U2, Gun 'n' Roses and The Clash are legendary even tho Ive only heard a few songs of theirs

It's more metal than rock but Pantera.
As for straight up rock, Black Sabbath. Forget Led Zep, Sabbath are the most influential band on this list.

Led Zeppelin without a single teeny weeny doubt. the phrase 'heavy metal' was coined from one of their concerts where the reviewer said their music sounded like 'pieces of heavy metal being dropped from a high building onto the ground'. and they've influenced just about everyone who's ever made a decent rock album.

BONJOVI are the best and the best looking for sure, I went to see them last Friday and they were magic. Also Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzyand the great ACDC.
