British Version Of American Redneck?

This question was asked but many of the Brits couldn't answer.

I can explain to the Brits what an American redneck is, then perhaps the Brits can tell you what their rednecks are called.

An American redneck is usually a poorly educated white man who works in a semi skilled job, has a bit of a drinking problem, smokes, enjoys loud rock music. He's not much into reading, doesn't think much of education beyond high school, but he may have a trade learned at a vocational school.

American rednecks are usually found in rural areas of the South and Midwest, but can be found in communities with heavy industry all over the USA.The American redneck also speaks a substandard form of American English and has a heavy regional accent.
But in spite of their flaws, the American redneck who does not have chemical abuse problems are loyal to their families and loyal to their country. American rednecks are also loyal members of the American military.

Or a "cockney" man or woman. Not to be generalising, but these places have a large amount of working class, people.

Its of course, generalising. You can find these sorts of people everywhere but it would mainly be Essex( Land of "chavs" and the working class) or somewhere else.

The American redneck also speaks a substandard form of American English - making many grammar errors when speaking and his/her writing skills are not very good. But in spite of their flaws, the American redneck who does not have chemical abuse problems are loyal to their families and loyal to their country. American rednecks are also loyal members of the American military. For that they are to be commended and praised.

The British Version of an American redneck would definately be
an Essex Girl or Essex Man.

Essex jokes in England are sort of like Redneck jokes in the US.

. i;m college educated ok so i;m the only one in my fam that is but oh well lol. I;m a rn dont have a drinkin problem have my own teeth too lol. So yeah i;m redneck backwoods country what ever you want to call it and darn proud of it.

Hi,actually a redneck is a person who`s down to earth,and been
described by Jeff Foxworthy as having:the glorious absence of sofistication.I know my spelling is off,but I don`t care!
We`re basically honest,not all have drinking problems,and yes we cherish our family.I`m sure you have them too,I`ve seen"Yes,
Vicar".
By the way,we may support the military even if we strongly disagree with the government.

I am a redneck, and I have a college education, I make 525,000 a year, I drive a car that gets 52 mpg I drink maybe 3-4 beers a year and I cuss once in a while and I prefer quiet country music, but I do stand behind my troops, and I will tell people to kiss my a$$ once in a while. so I guess I ruined your theory didn't I ?
