The European council has a unified visa platform, which allows its citizens or the holder of Schengen visa to travel freely in its zone.

Like-wise, why not a common visa under the aegis of SAARC could be established and make it operational during SAARC tourism year 2006?

It could provide easier access to the millions of divided families and increase the common people to people contact, which could develop friendlier interactions & social environment. It may lead to arbitration of many out-standing issues in its zone.

What is your opinion?

I think it is a fantastic idea that works toward a global community visa system, which I believe would be a monumental step toward world peace. For example, look at how well the EU is getting along with each other now with a singular currency, Euros, and limited restriction on travel, trade and communication. what a great idea it would be to have a similar thing in South Asia.
