Yes there is, by definition: the given from your question is that there's a tree in the forest; this is logically a non-conditional statement.

no. This is a quantum physics question and the answer is no. I dont have to explain why.

(after reading some answers: on satanorsanta: the scale has got nothing to do with it, really. Of course, physically we assume that the tree is there, since the question states "If there is a tree in the forest...". But im a postmodernist, i choose to say no. :) )

If the universe only existed in our sphere of influence then the tree wouldn't exist until we entered the grid where we imagined it into existence.

I'd say, if that tree was there then, it should be there now, unless it pulled up roots and moved on, which I doubt. What do YOU think the answer is?

Well,if someone is in front of you,and you cover your eyes so you cannot see them, does that mean they cannot see you?they existed before you covered your eyes,so there fore the tree that is not seen, than existed, still exists without recognition

Yes, does the world disappear if you close your eyes.

And about the quantum answer, wrong scale.

If you lay down and close your eyes and don't see yourself....are you still there? I suggest running outside naked and pretend that you don't see yourself so no one else will either...could be fun!?
