When I try to downlaod the attachment or open it. Nothing will happen, it just says 'done' even though it isn't open or saved. We have tried to hold down the 'control' buuton as you would to allow a 'pop up' but this doesn't make any difference. What do I need to do to the settings to allow attachments to save and open?

You don't say what you are using as your email client. Is it Outlook Express, Outlook or are you using Web Mail (i.e. mail on a web site)?

Also, which update was the most recent? Check this by going to the Microsoft Update site and looking at your Update History. Look at the notes for the most recent updates to see what they do.

There may be information to show you how to change your settings.

outlook express has option setting to fix that.

open outlook, click on TOOLS, then OPTIONS, the click the SECURITY tab, you should see an option to UNcheck where it says "do not alow attachments to be saved of open...." uncheck that box..restart outlook.
