You are ejected from the game and not allowed to return. In the World Cup you will be automatically suspended from the next game. If the offence was severe (such as causing serious bodily harm), then suspensions can be greater.

The player who gets red card is immediately out of that game. The team cannot replace the player with a substitute for that game. The player who got red card cannot play the next game too. But the team can replace him with another player for the next game.

You get ejected for the game and are suspended for the next one with no subs. Thugh i still don't know what happens if you get a red card in the Final.

Depending on the severity of the foul committed, you may be sitting out several games. Most of the time the punishment will be the next game.

you get a red card for something really bad or if you get two yellow cards(for minor offenses) that can give you a red card also...you get kicked out of the current game and the next game..an accumulation of red cards can give you longer suspensions...=BAD!!
