My worst quality is actually the result of my best quality. I work really hard. My job is stressful but I make it even more so because I don't just work on problems, I take ownership of them. That means that I don't have clear separations between what I do at work and who I am. It makes me a better worker but I invest so much at work sometimes that I don't have much left over for my home life.

When I do get home I'm often irritable. Then I dive into what I need to do at home with dedication almost equal to that I have at the office. I become a "clean house" Nazi, sweeping, mopping and still not feeling like I'm doing enough of it or doing it well enough.

I take on too many other activities as well. I'm an organizer for a fund raising drive to benefit a local food bank. I take Spanish classes and horseback riding. I have two dogs, a horse, two aquariums and a 4 acre lot that needs clearing and fencing.

Worst of all, I work myself into a tizzy and then get upset and hurt because my husband, who doesn't work, won't offer to help me. Then I feel like a martyr. Then I feel guilty for feeling like a martyr.

The bottom line is that I do too much and I think too much.

It's important to work hard and obtain security but my advice to young people is: simplify, simplify, simplify.
