Well it could mean shes really hungry or demanding you attention. My guinea pig does it all the time. I will be in my other room and she literally screams! I of course think shes hurt or scared so I run to her hutch, but when I get there shes just sitting by her hutch door looking up at me squeaking.

I had over 30 guinea pigs at one stage and the only ones I heard sqeaking like that were the ones in pain (they got attacked by a cat). :o(
P.S. I didn't start out with 30, I just had 2 females and a male and... well... they're h-o-r-n-y lil critters! I had to build extra cages cos I couldn't give them away as quickly as they were poppin 'em out!

When I am removing the top of the hutch, my guinea pig sqeals because she doesn't know what's going on, so she is scared.
When I put food out she sqeaks but it's because she is excited, happy and hungry :)
They sqeal loudly if hurt or in pain.
But they always "talk" :)

Guniea pigs do squeal. Most of the time it's because it's because they feel scared or threatened. If it's really high pitched, they are scared. If it's just a little squeal, then they are hungry.
