Sounds in the Night?

Why do sounds seems to carry much better early in the morning and at at nignt. It appers to be related to something other than the ambient noise levels being lowered.

Well I think the answer is in your question. It only SEEMS to carry better, and I think the reason is the reduced ambient noise.

Also because of the fact that due to the removal of so much noise our ears which are still tuned to a wide range of frequencies, pick things up.
