Try using the CD writer on another PC. If the CD works, then it's your computer. If the CD doesn't work, the the writer is on the fritze.

I had a similar problem with a USB hub. I solved the problem simply by plugging the hub into a different USB socket on the PC.

If that doesn't work buy a USB extension lead and make a direct connection between your device and the PC

First I would test the cd writer on another computer. If I had to guess at the problem it would be that you dont have enough power coming from the power supply.

Is there any way you can connect the device directly to a USB port on your PC, rather than the hub?

This message tells me that your P.C. doesn't have a large enough power supply to handle the load that you are putting on it. In other words, you need a larger power supply (more watts) to power the devices you are trying to run on your computer.

are you using the usb cord to attach a ipod or other portable device? If so, you can buy a cord from the distributer of your device; it should work fine.
