I just wondered why. I pretty much hate Celine Dion's music and I can't find why she should be considered as a jazz artist. Is it because she has done a cover of Etta James's "At Last"? But I just happened to listen some jazz radios and her songs were broadcasted :/ Could someone explain me?
PS: Same thing for artists such as Elton John, Sting, Phil Collins or even New Age artists such as Yanni (yuuuuuck!) etc.

They are "smooth jazz" stations, not really jazz. "Smooth jazz" is the latest trend in jazz programming. They include mellow jazz people like Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Fourplay, Kenny G, etc along with mellow adult contemporary singers like Steely Dan, Sting, Sade, Norah Jones, yes Celine Dion, and people like that. A lot of times these singers have jazz elements. Of these people listed, Steely Dan, Sade, and Norah Jones certainly have elements of jazz.

Well, I don't know why, but, anyway I wouldn't mind that cos' I am a huge Celine Dion fan. If you aren't, then maybe you haven't lisstened to some of her true hits. For starters try listening to songs like "Thats the way it is", "My heart Will go on", "A new day has come".

Because shortly after her musical career began, SHE WAS A JAZZ ARTIST! Here is one of her songs, which is one of my favs by her (even I love all her music @ least a whopping degree) and Kenny G! Notice it reads Celine Dion, featuring Kenny G....not the other way around!
