The possibility of either no one in the group being a leader, everyone in the group being a leader.

Group dynamics are interesting and there are a lot of weaknesses that can be worked through

At the website below is some information on Group Dynamics and ways to enhance or improve any weaknesses the group may have. A lot of it depends on what the mission of the group is as well as if the members of the group have a stake in the outcome.

I think the hardest thing about doing group work at university was finding time for everyone in the group to meet at the same time to get any work done.

Everybody in the group has different schedules, some work, some have babies at home, and some have classes at night...so any time we came up with a meeting time, only maybe half of us were there. Then, if we met again we had to waste half the time trying to fill in and explain things to people who had missed the last meeting. Then if the "new" attendees wanted to change something the people with the original idea of course werent there. You can't get anything done with only part of the group showing up at any one time.

If the work can't be done in class, its just really annoying working out of class with other people because if you are in university, everyone has really crazy schedules.

I am not sure there is just one...

An example could be groupthink, where the members of a group do not divulge thier honest opinion, and just agree with whoever develops as group leader.

You can find a great example of this with the group that initially discussed the Bay Of Pigs invasion in the United States.

In my experience, the stronger kid threatens the weaker kid to have him to all the work. The smarter kid has to carry the others, and it is difficult to make sure all groups are on task.
