Well, it's hard to change your personality, but you could lighten up and learn some humor by watching the following shows: Seinfeld (buy the whole collection if you can't watch the reruns), King of the Hill, and The Simpsons.
Also, practice relaxation so that you can smile more easily.
And remember, "it's not the end of the world".

Heck there is nothing wrong about being serious so long as you are a decent human being. Not all of us can tell witty stories and be the life of a party. As for being humourous,I bet you laugh at all the right places while watching funny movies. That's enough humor.Being formal and serious may mean you won't be popular.I think its enough to have one or two good friends you can trust rather than having a crowd of syncophants.

Honestly you might not ever, I think it is both in nature and nurture, some people just don't get it. But here are some suggestions
Choose movies that are comedy, go to some stand up comedy clubs or rent some DVDs Example Ron White, Robbin Williams , read the jokes in "playboy" and" readers digest" Just watch life around you , people are unique because the can laugh. Good Luck

whoa, instead said that u are serious, just say that u are responsible for your act.
do u mean serious as:Deeply interested or involved?
well , giving all u got, to do something is good
why should you take some matter not serious? underestimate someting will not do
but u not need to explain everything to every one, just be serious, but not haste, take your time, organized your habit, be flexible , do smile, need not to be humorous, just smile first,
see the mirror, and think, what do you think when you see that other you
you can see serious as respect for something,
when you smile, do you not serious doing it? a fake smile?

Hey, there is nothing wrong being serious, In fact as our good friend Nietzsche said that we have to take life more seriously. I really believe this. I thing that you can be as funny as you can or as serious as you want, but independently how you approach this life, God must be first in your list. Be constant....

Remember that life is a journey not a destination.
Each day is truly a gift and today is ALL that we have.
A quote I adhere to is..
"Yesterday is history..tomorrow a mystery
but today is a GIFT..
thats why they call it "THE PRESENT"

we all only have 24 hours to live life...no one can live more than that...enjoy each day... take time to look at flowers, birds, etc...don't put too much on your plate in one day.... know when to say this is enough for one day....do fun things that you enjoy...
