Well, according to this source, they do. They never know where they may have to land in the event of an emergency. I believe they could land in Africa if need be.

If they really had to land in a foreign country, they would just land there for their own safety. If there was a passport requirement, they could always obtain copies of such paperwork through their government.
Plus, I think general international travelers have to leave a copy of all paperwork that can ID them at home with a relative, so that if they lose their passport, they'll have extra copies. Then they can come back to their home country with no problem. That could apply to astronauts, possibly, in the event of an emergency foreign landing.

I don't believe they are required to. Generally speaking, it's not an issue.
But there have been circumstances of US Military having to force land in an area and then having a lot of trouble getting out of that country for the lack of a passport.

I would think not. if a US astronaut takes off from the US, they're going to land in the US. it would be very rare for them to land anywhere else. there are several places throughout the US that they can land in emergency situations.

It's rare for a U.S. Spaceship to land in another Country but if such did have to happen, I can imagine they would bring Passports.

as long as they are astronauts they can land anywhere, even if it is an emergency landing.... but basically there going to land in california, florida, or texas....it basically doesnt matter.... and if that thing happens the Russian and the US will deal with it...
