To add to Wu Gwei's answer...
Also understand turtle psychology.
Pond turtles escape predators by walking off high places (basking sites) and falling into water, so they pretty much assume there is always water at the bottom of a fall. By keeping them artifically, we have changed the rules, but they still follow deep instincts.
Tortoises, on the other hand, rarely walk off edges because in their habitats, that woul mean an uncomfortable fall.

The thing is, why is your turtle on your bed? Turtles and other herps should have their own living area and not share yours. It's not good husbandry to share living spaces, since you will likely share bacteria (e.g. salmonella), and possibly parasites. Best to keep them in their own set-up, even if they ahev been de-wormed.
As for jumping... well, the turtle is wanting to get away, which indicates that it is not comfortable with the situation. Turtles need to feel safe. If they are stressed, their immune system and health will be compromised (i.e. get sick more easily).
Turtles do not like to handled, but some people insist on handling them and they can get used to being handled. I still advise you to handle it little as possible. Stressing it out for your pleasures is just not fair.
Good luck.

There are 'snapping' turtles, maybe yours is a 'jumping' turtle?

I used to have little sliders as well. It is a healthy behavior. I would be more worried if it was not moving. Usually when they do this, they are just expending energy. How warm is your tank? Usually the warmer the tank the more active they are. There is nothing to worry about though. Just normal slider behavior. Hope this helps.

You use the word 'does' with a singular subject, not 'do'.
