That's just the major league record. Hank Aaron had 755 home runs in a 23 year career in 12,364 AB and Ruth had 714 HR in 22 seasons and nearly 4000 fewer AB, 8,398. Ruth didn't quit early, he was 39 when he retired in 1935.
The Japanese record is held by Sadaharu Oh with 868. In the old ***** League,s Josh Gibson had over 900 but records weren't as well kept then.

Babe Ruth would have had more home runs, but in the early days of his career the ball didnt travel as far. Also in his early days he was a pitcher and only played every couple days. But then again he never faced any of the great ***** League players, and the right field fence at old Yankee Stadium was well under 300 feet.

the leader in home runs is arron, but he played longer than ruth, if you take home runs per at bat, ruth would win out, so ruth is the best home run hitter of all time, but arron has the most.

Aaron played longer, 26 seasons. There is another name you may have never heard of. Josh Gibson. He played only in the ***** league. Although the records have been lost, and weren't that well kept to begin with, it is believed that Josh hit between 800-900 homers.

The MLB record is the only one that counts.

Japanese baseball is not real, and does not count.
