I would tell him how much I appreciated the fact that he taught me to do things for myself. He never treated me like a " little girl who should be playing with dolls ".
I worked in his woodshop
I worked with him over summer vacation when he fixed refrigerators
I helped him work on the car
yardwork...etc.
Now, I am a woman who does my own home/car/yard repairs....and I couldn't be happier that way!
My favorite " gadget " is my dremmel roto tool !!!!!

At my Fathers funeral, 32 years ago, I made the following statement. Thirty-two years later it is still true.
There was only one man that ever walked the face of this earth that was better than my Father.
Jesus Christ.
Now, 32 years later, I am a Christian Pastor and father of a beautiful daughter. I pray that I can be the father to her that mine was to me.
