look at their NBA... its so violent... in soccer they can't be so violent so they don't like it......

US sucks at soccer because it is not the US past time. Any country in the world except the US and Soccer is the main sport. Yes other countries compete and do very well in the Olympics and other sports but Soccer is the Worlds sport. US has not until recently put enough interest into youth programs. Other countries find players at young ages and get them experience. The last time the world cup was in the US, we had to use Football stadiums to play soccer in. Look at Germany and their stadiums for Soccer and the tradition they have. No US cities are know for their soccer stadiums. In Europe and other countries they are tourist attractions. All that being said, the US have made great strides and I think will eventually be able to win a world cup as US leagues grow and popularity grows in the US. Maybe not for the next 10 world cups but someday.

I'm going to guess this refers to the czech game since the Americans handled the Italians until they went down to 9 men, and even then they played well. The U.S. is not a powerhouse in football because there's little interest in it. It's widely thought of as a pussy sport because of the little contact and players constantly taking dives. Rivaldo's fake against Turkey in the 2002 world cup is a prime example.
Even though the Americans focus more on other sports, their national team is still fairly good. They did make it to the quarter finals in 2002 after all.
Simirlarly Europe has a lack of interest and tradition in American Football and sucks at it.

The US sucks because they don't have a great football league like the Premiership or La Liga so the players will obviously suck. Plus many Americans think football(soccer) is gay and are to ignorant toward it but the NFL is what's gay- fat men grabbing each other and hugging to get them on the ground.

Because in every other country its the biggest thing going. In the US we have Football, Basketball and Baseball before Soccer. Thats where all the best athletes go.

because there is little interest in soccer like there is in the other countries we have football baseball basketball and the supply of athletes that are interested in soccer is a smaller pool than that of other countries that hold soccer in high regard as a sport.

Contries can only be gay for one sport. For the US, it is football (non soccer). And the MLS sucks compared to Premier league. And, hell, Ivory Coast stopped a civil war to watch the game. We still go to work and sometimes TiVO games but never leave to watch a game

ugh, usa actually played well against italy, dominated 3/4 of the match and they deserved to win, even with 9 men they still played well and also scored a goal which was not given but i think it should have been alowed the official called the wrog decision, they got alot of experienced players who play in foreign countries and im sure they will do well against ghana and could even win that game
