Do you want him to have to register as a "sex offender" for the rest of his life? Stop having sex right now. Your parents might pursue a legal action against him if they find out, and it will ruin his life.

In Iowa, the age of consent is 14. Everywhere else it is either 16 or 17. Once he turns 18, if you can consent at 14, it will become illegal. The charge he would get, if reported, is statuatory rape, or consensual sex with a minor. In Michigan, the age of consensual sex is 16. I took a criminal justice class and I believe in some states 17 is still a minor, but if I remember correctly in most states 17 is leagal consit which makes him an adult.

No matter, because he will be 18 soon and that is most defintly illegal. I think you better put a stop to your relationship. If he his caught he will go to prison and then he will have to register on the sex offenders list for atleast 10 years, no matter where he lives. It doesn't matter if you consented or not your a minor and the law doesn't believe your old enough to make such choices.

Find somebody closer to your age and be careful you don't want to be prego or catch something. I say no sex is best at such a young age, but if your going to then protect yourself.

I have a degree in criminal justice and it was indeed illegal. In Michigan it is called 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct and if your parents found out and pressed charges, or the DA found out and decided to press charges (with or without your parents' consent) he would (since he is 17) be charged as an adult and could recieve a sentence of up to 15 years per count. He would also be required to register as a sexual offender four times per year for 25 years.
I suggest that if you don't want to get him in trouble, you take the utmost precautions to avoid being caught or else abstain from sex until your 16th birthday.
(By the way, in Michigan it would be 3rd degree CSC even if the boyfriend was also 14, but then at least he would most likely be tried in a juvenile court.)

Yes!!! I have a fifteen year old step-son who just went through the same thing his girlfriend is 18. And other family members tried to get involved when she became pregnant. The parents where I live are the only ones who can go after the older one for statutory rape. But the police also told them that if they were ever caught in the act of sex, they would be arrested because it is very much against the law. We don't approve, but we also have a beautiful grand baby. When they first started dating he was 14 and she was 17!!

It depends on what state you are in. In most, if you are both under the age of 18 it is not illegal. As soon as your boyfriend turns 18 and you continue to have sex, he could face statutory rape charges by you or your family.

I would say yes, it is illegal. Definately after he's 18 it is, however in some states he only has to be 17 and in others, if there is a 3+ year age difference when one or both are underage it can be considered illegal. 14 is too young to be giving yourself to anyone, please wait.

Yes...illegal as well as dumb! If you're not ready to raise a child and put their needs before your own--you shouldn't be having sex.....illegal or otherwise! At 14 & 17....I hardly think either of you are ready for that.

depends where you live - the laws are different
in most cases it is STATUTORY RAPE..
he is using his position of being older to get you to have sex with him.. no 17 or 18 year old would be with a 14 year old if it wasnt for sex.. he would find a girl closer to his own age..
you need to get some self esteme and dump this horney jerk.. he doenst love you he just wants sex... he is using you and you are using him for self esteme. It is terribly sad that a girl your age would need to feel this way.. so needy of a guy

what would happen if you got pregnant or got herpes or AIDS even???

Depends on what state / province you live in. To tell the truth, you're way too young to have to worry about such things. Try to find an adult, someone who you can trust and to talk to. Like a guidance councellor, a community worker, priest, aunt or older cousin (preferrably someone who has gone through the teenager years already and will understand what you're going through and not tattle tale).

Enjoy your early teens as much as you can. In your lifetime you will have sooo many things to worry about. Don't give yourself all these headaches now.

For example: am I breaking the law - - will my boyfriend be arrested? am I pregnant?,do I have a sexually transmitted disease? etc., etc.,

yes it's illegal I'm sure in all states. In TX at 17 you're considered an adult and can be charged with "having sex with a minor" which is a felony
