My girlfriend has been taking the birth control pill for about 5 months, and we used a condom. She has not missed any days, and takes the pill at the same time (within 5 minutes) every night. I also did not ejaculate during intercourse. What are the chances for pregnancy using dual contraception methods?

not really bloody likely. the BC by itself has like a 99.3% success rate. and then, you combine that with a rubber? you're almost 100% covered. if she is late one day, tell her not to panic: a woman who knows what she's talking about says to go get a test. almost always, there's a hormonal change when something like this occurs and throws your cycle off a bit. just getting a test will confirm that no, there is no need for panic whatsoever.

but seriously, even if you did finish off inside, condoms are really efficient at catching everything. even if it falls off you and stays in her, the opening will usually be outside the body, so any spilleage will just fall out. pull it out carefully and throw it away (keeping that is just so freakin' nasty! be a man, clean up after yourself; girls gotta clean themselves off too). if you like, take a shower afterwards, or (even better!) shower together. it's good clean fun, and a nice way to end things and ensure hygene!

good luck, and may you both have many happy romps together!

P.S.- I'd just like to add that yes, it is possible to get pregnant while on the pill. it's pretty dang hard, and if she's regular with it like clockwork, it's almost impossible. and the fact that you are careful too makes it so remote, you have a better chance of becoming the king of spain, winning the lottery, and getting hit by lightening on the same day.

And you did not ejaculate during intercourse? I would put it at about utterly 0.

Actually using both the pill and a condom gets the odds pretty damned close to that anyway.

Why are you worried about it?

I used the same method with an ex-boyfriend. I also never missed my pill and took it at exactly 9:30 every morning. I got pregnant. Don't have sex if you're not ready for the consequences.

If there is no ejaculation, then why are you worried? Even if you had the "pre-ejacualation" the condom would protect you & the pill on top of that should make you feel pretty secure.

I was on birth control when I became pregnant, and my fiance also used a condom. However, I didn't take my birth control as religiously as your girlfriend seems too.

Even though there is a slim chance that she could be pregnant, there is always a possibility. birth-control fails everyday, and even though you didn't ejaculate, you still have pre-***, which contains just as much sperm as ejaculate.

the only things certian in life are death and taxes. But you are pretty close to 100 percent safe from pregnancy.

What I wonder is if you are actually enjoying it if you are so scared about pregnancy. It seems a waste of time to me if you aren't, I just wouldn't have sex at all if you are that scared.

The pill was about 99% sure.
The condome was about 97% sure.
If you didn't ejaculate and no pre-ejaculation inside her - 100%
But..........if she is faking taking the pill - 100% sure pregnancy.
If she is biting the end off the condoms or sticking pins in them - 100% sure pregnacy.
If she is sleeping with someone else - well who knows!!!!
The real question should be - Does she WANT to get pregant??
