You are definitely handsome, but maybe a little too big for big-ad modeling. But hey, break the mold the ads use! We need more real-looking people in the ads! Good Luck! I think you should try it, if you want to.
p.s. If you are receiving Disability Benefits, and you start modeling, you will lose you benefits, because the very definition of disability is the inability to work.

Your photos aren't very good (the photos not your face). So, I can be sure. I'm prof. photografer and every day check out many model's photos.
For Europe (I live in Rome now) you are not old, but I think you are a bit overweight. You need to loose some kilos (I think).
Your wife has right, gray hair make men look better.
You have worked as a model so you must have some conections.
Find an agent and ask for part time job as model(please take some good photos by a proffesional) maybe they want your type.
Ask also part time job in commercials (it's more easy) . They pay well and you find many persons there who will help you to make your come back into modeling.

Different products need different models. Older and younger. You have prior experience, which gives you an advantage over others that will be trying to get into modeling for the first time.
As you know there are some companies that will tell you a lot of BS just to get you to pay for pictures, ect....you know better than to fall in that trap.
Use your network to try and see if you still have what it takes. You appear good to me, even overweight balding men could be models...so why not you?

There is a small market for mature models and men CAN model at older ages than women, but you also know you need to be in PERFECT physical condition. That gut will need to go! Hit the gym!
Your best bet, get new photos and talk to a real agent. You should already know how to do that.
