I'm having a bit of a debate with some one about this. I know which Caribbean island I consider to be the more exclusive out of the two in terms of celebrities visiting, expensive to stay there, etc but I'd just like to know if my own opinion is confirmed.
I do know that there are far more exclusive Caribbean islands like St Barts, the Caymnas, Bahamas, turks and Caicos, etc but I just wanted to know specifically about your opinions on Anitgua or Barbados.
Also could "answerers" go out on a limb and choose one.. if possible! thanks

Antigua definately. It is far more expensive to travel to and stay at and there are a number of celebrities who both visit there and have homes there: Whitney Houston, Eric Clapton, Mariah Carey, Pierce Brosnan....etc
I believe that Antigua holds one of the most exclusive yachting events each year there and anyway every other Brit (I'm English) can go to Barbados (also they tend to go to the Dominican Republic) but Antigua is quite expensive to travel to!
Forgot to say that I have been to both places and wouldn't personally go back to Barbados... it's a little bit too common [sorry] and touristy!!

Despite Barbados being popular with all and sundry (package tours from all over the world), I would say that it still attracts more famous people than Antigua. Whether that makes it more exclusive or not, I don't know. I think the beaches (and sea) are better and the tourist infrastructure is more developed. I have spent 2 weeks on both islands and whilst I would go back to Barbados again, I would not return to Antigua - though it was still a treat to go there.

Barbados......this is the best,an island where Tiger Woods got married,Whitney Houston loves the place, The Queen, The Royal Family,The Sandy Lane Hotel,The Crane, Royal Westmorland. Tons of exclusive ...housing residences, where u can't even see the fences surrounding the place.
Where else did British Airways send their Concorde plane for the last 20 years, a weekly flight, to BARBADOS ....not Antigua, EXCLUSIVE...........Nelly Furtado...did a suprise show for her up coming album...where ? ? ? ....BARBADOS.
The Queen Mary 2 stops where on her caribbena journies.....Antigua...no ....Barbados.
Which airport in the caribbean has to literally parkm planes on the runway....on Old Year's Night (December 31st ) ......becuz so many RICH pep come down to party at the EXCLUSIVE hotels on the west coast for one night...on thier private jets.

Everyone's heard of Barbados, so I'd say Antigua is more exclusive now.

Barbados is very tourist attractive and is as such is very expensive to visit. It also plays host to many events that draw celebrities like the Jazz festival (Alicia Keys).
