My friend's 12 year old sister has a friend who has blond hair and blue eyes. Her mother is Korean. I didn't think that this is possible, because blond hair, blue eyes is recessive, and I'm pretty sure that these genes aren't found in the Korean population. Now the mother could be half Korean (my friend wasn't sure), which would make the blond haired, blue eyed child possible. But for the sake of this question, I'm assuming the mother is full Korean, and the kid wasn't adopted.

I'm just curious if with this genetic combination, its possible to get a blond haired blue eyed child.

Also, I never met the child in question, nor her mother.

It can happen but it is very rare. The mother could have had the trait for blue eyes and blonde hair.

No blond and blue eyes is recessive and it can not happen. Even among white people if on parent isn't then the real father is probably the mail man.
For years women try to get away with passing themselves or ancestor as half Euorpean, half American-Indian or half-whatever but that is not the way genetics work.
1/4 of all fathers are not the genetic fathers of their kids. Also most parents lie to their kids about being adopted. The korean Mother maybe adopted and not know.

Well, there are a lot of personal problems in this world you should not be snooping around in, for one. And yes, this is a very likely situation. Read up on Mendel's laws of genetics. This is extremely possible. Even more so if she was bi-racial. You see, blue eyes is a recessive genetic trait. That means that the black gene for black hair and brown eyes is dominant over the white trait for blonde hair and blue eyes. But, if your black example is biracial and has one blonde hair, blue eyed parent, and one completely black parent, she will look completely black but she would have the genes for a blonde hair, blue eyed baby. So, if she marries someone with blonde hair and blue eyes, she will have a blonde hair and blue eyed baby for sure.

Beware the friend of a friend stories, they're usually BS. Have you seen this person, has your sister seen this person?
I suppose it's possible, not likely, but possible. It would require the Korean mother to have more than a few recessive genes that resulted from mutations, or mixed ancestry. Odds are its a dye job and color contacts, with a few identity issues as well.
Assuming it isn't some fake anecdote.

Our son is dark blonde and blue eyed and looks like me. I am bonafide white, brown haired (as a child I was strawberry blonde), light skinned, and blue eyed, and his father is bonafide Korean, dark skinned, brown eyed with black hair. So, yes, I think it is possible. Just because the mother is Korean doesn't mean that she rules the genetic dominance. Blue eyes are generally dominant over brown.

I have brown curly hair and I have Blonde highlights. Possibly you should try lighter blonde, it might look better than brown, brownish just looks kind of trashy.

Why are you assuming that?
The child could be adopted or the mom could be the fathers second wife. We have all sorts of blended families these days.
Simply accept that they are mother and child and share that bond.
