I would make sure he does not have another in his life that is in love with him,as well. I also think he may already know that you love him. I would feel him out (with words)-lol-and try to figure out how he may feel about changing from friends,to lovers. Either way,I'm sure he would not drop you from his life, after all this time.

it might depend on what kind of person he is. but first think, are you sure you are really in love with him before you tell him. You should try telling him how you feel if you really feel it. hopefully he wouldnt freak out and if he really is your best friend, he would still be your friend..
