If they have a Home Owners Insurance policy yes..... If not you could sue them but this would cost more than a weeks work, and not be worth it.... imho

Well if a burglar who fell through a roof light onto a kitchen knife can get compensation then I'm sure you can. (this happened a few years ago in the UK). Then again, why was you on the plank in the first place? If you had no right to be there or were warned of the danger then it might be trickier but if it was negligence on the home owners part then you probably can.

Too little information to give an answer to your question. Best advice telephone a compensation claim help line - any of the firms like claims direct etc will be able to give you the best advice. Most have a freephone number and non of them should charge for the telephone consultation. Be careful who you choose though - go through the citizens advice centre. Some try to arrange an insurance to cover the costs which you could end up paying.
Good luck

Definitely not enough information for an answer here. What were you doing at the house? Why were you standing on a plank? Were you working at the house? If so, your employer should cover all medical bills as well as workers comp for your injured time. Give us more details and we'll answer better!

Too little information. Basic answer yes. Occupiers Liability Act 1957 says that an occupier must make sure that the premises are reasonably safe so the visitor does not hurt themselves. (note this is not to make sure the person doesnt succum to any harm, but just to make sure the land is safe blah blah) So therefore if it was reasonable for the occupier to have known that the plank would cause harm, then sure, you'd be able to get your weeks wages paid by them (plus a little for discomfort etc) But yea, put in some more detail about what you were doing, who you are (in relation to the occupier) etc and i can just edit my answer accordingly. (Its important to note that this is not legal advice as im not a lawyer)

If you had been warned about it, and carried on ignoring the warning. Then no, don't think so.
If legitimately in that area and a complete accident, then the householder's insurance probably covers this. It is then up to you to prove your case.

probably, but why? the plank broke, the owner didnt snap it or push you off ,so why punish a person/s who are just as innocent as you

You haven't posted enough information, but the homeowner's insurance might pay such a claim.

their homeowners insurance should cover the medical bills, but you'd probably have to negotiate with the insurance company for any more money.

Depends. Were you burgling their house?
