Its a small world after all. I would never go to a place that didn't have the internet or places to buy stuff, and FedEx and those guys will deliver right?
1. A briefcase with all the important papers I need, such as legit copies of my birth certificate, family contact info and banking information. Lots of such papers and some DVD's with all my contact info and pics from all my personal albums.
2. A money belt with both small bills, large bills and credit cards, insurance cards, membership cards discount cards and etc.
3. A cell phone that can be used where ever I go, loaded with all the contact numbers I might ever need, which includes an MP3 player and digital camera.
If you are literally serious about 3 things, I would take a swimsuit, walking shoes, and a credit card.
Either way, I am ready to party!

When I moved from England to the US I brought my clothes, my computer's hard disk (with back ups), and my wallet. I sold everything else I owned. Furniture was too expensive to bring, electronics tend not to work in other countries. Of course I also brought sentimental stuff too.
