It all depends on the part of the country and the politics of the judge, ie., conservative or liberal. Always wear a skirt in the south, just to be on the safe side.
As a Litigation Consultant, I generally advise my clients to wear blue to court. It's universally considered the color of "truth" and "innocence". Have you ever noticed that artists always depict the mother of Jesus with a blue head covering? Guess why. Red is perceived as an aggressive color--remember the old "Power Tie" thing? Green is calming, etc. Check some sites that discuss the psychology of color, and use that information accordingly to subconsciously shape the court's perception of you, as your case dictates. Every advantage counts. Good luck!

A skirt suit or pant suit is the most appropriate. However, dark colors may not be the best color. A neutral color such as gray or a light color are supposedly better choices for a courtroom due to the old stigma that "bad guys wear black and good guys wear white".

I'd say it depends on your role in the case. A skirt suit shows professionalism. A dress of a certain kind might show more motherly, sympathetic characteristics. Look at it that way.

it particularly is purely this type of unusual request. it particularly is purely approximately like asking human beings to assimilate because of the fact then all and sundry is greater mushy and there are much less problems. human beings shop asserting he's so brave speaking approximately some thing like this in such delicate circumstances. i think of it particularly is purely insensitivity. He might have meant it in a possible way, yet something that encourages generations into even gentle Islamophobia is beside the point. i do no longer deny his suitable to make comments like that, yet a woman could be allowed to positioned on despite she feels maximum mushy in. If this became a situation of Islamic females being compelled into wearing veils perhaps some thing could be finished, yet maximum decide directly to positioned on it of their very own unfastened will. in comparison to a pair different countries. Hello! I believe that the best thing to wear is"The Naked Truth" that way no matter what Gender you are-everyone will see that you are telling the truth. If you are unsure as to what to wear, wear something that is not flashy & not to consrvative, wear something that fits you comfortable but not baggy, wear something that holds your "Personality Character" Remember not to flashy but something that will remind the important people in the Courtroom that you are a "Responsible & Contributing Member Of Society" & that (Remorse) alway's out-weighs the Clothing. PLease do keep in mind that your appearance in a Courtroom is in fact very important but, not as important as your (Character). The Clothing alway's helps build a character but, you also have to fit your Character in the Clothing. My best wishes & sincere Good luck!

As a defendant, I was told to wear slacks or skirt and long sleeve shirt. Traditionally, black or navy blue are the colors chosen. It is considered more respectful.

Nuetural colors...black, dark blue, or a tan are generally good and safe colors. Nothing flashy, loud, bright, or "printed" (like designs and stuff). Pantsuits are perfectly acceptable on women these days. If your going to pick a pantsuit I would suggest wearing a low/high heeled shoe with it....it generally makes you look taller and more professional.
