My mother had me very late in life and her ideas in raising children were very old fashioned. I wasn't allowed to do a lot of the stuff that my friends were, like driving to the shore after staying up all night after the senior prom. Never got over that one. So the only change I would give her would be a more hip attitude.

I want her to stop insisting that my husband call her "Mow-tha" with that crazy British accent out of respect for his own mother and just let the man call her Mamma like everybody else! It's EMBARRASING!
