1 11/2 hours per head after everything is out of the way.its a small block Chevy.if you have any experience working on engines, you don't have to be super-experienced to pull that one off.if you are even shade tree,it should take you no more than 6 hours, start to finish.just don't forget the head bolts in the far left and right lower inside of heads as they usually get gooped up[covered with sludge] and are hard to see unless you know they are there.

In total: from 100% assembled to 100% reassembled and operational around 4 actual working hours, maybe 5 at max.

Because its a van, I would give myself 16 hours. However, I would take the heads to napa (or other machine shop) to check valves and any thing else. That would take a couple of more days.

Chevy vans are hard to work on..cause theres so little room to work with...it takes two people to man handle those heavy heads into place.....it would be an all day job for a shop to do...if you do it ...probrably a weekend...and it most likely into monday

well, the good news is there is plenty of room once you remove the dog house to work. its not that bad of a job!.to answer you question about how much time, well it should take 10-12 hrs depending on how much grease you like.also dont forget to send the heads to the machine shop. its money well spent! good luck!
