well being married 3 times i think the phrase is so common because it is assumed a man will want a younger woman after spending time with his "Older" wife. Another Phrase goes like this. When your wife turns 40, turn her in for two 20 year olds

Divorce usually comes later, after he has been cheating with the younger/better person for a while. It is a massive boost to a mans ego to have a younger woman interested in him. It is also a hint to not let oneself go and get too comfortable in a relationship. It takes a lot of work from both sides. So yes cheating and divorce are connected.

I think it goes along with the rate at which men mature. There is a saying about men never growing up and being with a younger more immature woman allows them to act and feel the age they want to.

yes its along side cheating and often times that term is true because as a man, when a younger and better woman comes along and i can get away with having an affair with her without a doubt ill grab the oppurtunity.

When a man is in his 30's he wants a woman in her twenties.
When a man is in his 40's he still wants a woman in her 20s or AT LEAST, LATE 20's.
When a man is in his 50's, he STILL wants a woman in her 20s.
Get it? :) Basically, men want "ripe and young" women so to speak. As their wives grow older with them, they still want younger women.

Young women like older men because older men are more financially stable and more mature. So there.

Men never leave you for someone who's older...obviously. When you start to get old, and let yourself go, he'll leave you for someone who's younger and therefore better (physically etc.)

I think in case that men like variety, if their wives can't be various always, the better one can always attract them,I think it's natural. So you should always be various!
