Resident Evil could never come true because it is a bit far fetched, but I regularly see Zombies about the place.
You should watch the fly on the wall documentary about Meadowhall (pronounced "Meadowhell") shopping centre which is the English epicentre of Zombie culture. It's called "Dawn of the dead" (Dir: George A. Romero) and is a fascinating incite into how the rest of us get dragged down to their level, despite our precautions :D

Maybe if you send high amp low voltage shocks in a controlled manner to a deceased person, then yes.
Pretty soon, a zombie monarchy will occur and he'll start euthanizing people and zap them! Then we'll all be assimilated!
