All animals take in nourishment on one side, derive energy and body proteins from it, and excrete it on the other side.
Just because they are in the water doesn't mean they don't do this. In fact goldfish are very dirty pets and must be taken care of more than most fish or their water gets too dirty and they get sick and die.

No, they bloat up and explode in thie sleep. Of course they wee.
That is where the amonia in the tank comes from that cause the water to cloud up. That ans overfeeding.
