The death of Al-Zaqhawi, New elections, A government, were all supposed to bring stability to that nation. Fact is things have got worse over the last few days. American soldiers are dying, people are dying. Is it suprising that a new world poll puts America as a bigger danger to world peace than Iran?

Blackb3lt,
Are you for real? Your response to PorkChop makes sense, but then you have the diatribe about helping 'them'. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS PEOPLE ARE LESS THAN AMERICANS. Do they not have the right to determine there own future. Ask the people of New Orleans to agree with your sentiments.

I truly don't think Americans are really in denial about Iraq at all. We want all of our people to leave and come back home now but it's not up to us at all. The biggest problem is Bush who sees Iraq as his own world to conquer and have everyone there do exactly as he wants and to shove all his beliefs down the throats of all the people of Iraq. I know the world doesn't care for America at all because of the "Bush" war and I wish that everyone would remember that it's not us who want that war at all but again, what can we do?
Yes, I can see why the new world poll sees America as a bigger danger to world peace now and the reason for that is not our fault at all but put the blame where it rightly belongs, at the feet of Bush and no where else.
He started it against every ones advice and he will not admit he was and is still wrong so I pray the world will please stop blaming the rest of America for what Bush has done and is still doing to not just Iraq but to us and the whole world as well.

I hate to say it, but Americans are in denial about a lot more than Iraq. But I'd put the percentage at about 35%...I think 65% of Americans are finally starting to suss out what's really going on; to wit, the government is lying pathologically, they helped orchestrate 9/11, the Patriot Act and Homeland Security were designed to turn the country into a police state and Iraq (and, coming soon, Iran) was invaded not to liberate the Iraqi people but to make the military industrial complex a ton of blood money. And Americans in general know this; those who ARE in denial are only in denial because the truth goes against their entire being. Which is understandable; it's not easy to come to terms with the fact that your so-called reality (i.e. what you see on CNN) is an illusion. Not everybody can do it. It'd because of the approximate 65% who aren't in denial that I haven't lost all hope for humanity.

Why do you ask these questions if you don't want to hear criticism? How about you talk to yourself and then nod in agreement if that's all you want to hear? We're making progress, especially with Iraq getting a defense ministry. We could leave now and allow a civil war, or we can guide them through a process that will be very difficult but will allow all 3 factions to feel like they are represented and hopefully take the battle into the political arena and stop executing children of the wrong branch of their religion

Porkchop, you're right, there's a huge movement of creating chaos and then stealing our liberties under the guise of security and safety.

Fortunately, for liberals, It's not just a river in Egypt...

The U.S. military in recent weeks has seized a "huge treasure" of intelligence materials on al Qaeda in Iraq, including a revealing document in which the terror group acknowledges its own "bleak situation" caused by losses on both the public relations and war fronts.
The documents seized in the weeks leading up to the June 7 killing of Abu Musab Zarqawi also have provided intelligence that has helped direct nearly 500 allied combat operations and resulted in the killings of 104 insurgents, the U.S. command in Baghdad said yesterday.
Al Qaeda's acknowledged failures and the military offensive have been so successful that Iraq's national security adviser flatly predicted that Zarqawi's group, al Qaeda in Iraq, is at "the beginning of the end."

The country is more stable now than it was last year. Fewer US troop are dying on a daily basis.

The death of Al-Zaqhawi doesn't bring about instant peace, nor do elections.

It will be a long, slow and painful process.

People are dieing in America. Things are worse here then they were years ago. When are we going to leave America.

Dont be a tard. Of course people are dieing and they are not stable. We are at war and we have enemies who want us dead. Or military is doing a fine job. Give them time.

Also maybe you want to study other wars and see how many people died everyday. Do you know how long it took to stabelise Germany and Japan.

Appeasement has always been the worlds answer.Where did it ever get them. The Mid-East is a 15th century mentality with 20th century weapons.
If your mentality were followed we would not continue to arrest people who break the law in this country. After all police men are being kill and so are civilians. If we arrest one there are always others ready to take over.It is a battle we can not win.Bring our cops home now!Let the citizens fend for them selves!
Man that would fix everything wouldn't it.
