Tell me you are kidding! A leash on a 14yr. old? There are some really good parenting classes available through most schools. One very good one is, "Love and Logic".
Family counseling would also be a huge benefit to all involved, that's if you were serious in the first place.

Of course the Parent is right, but this is not the case of who is right.....But just a matter of compromising, you need to explain to him the Rules of not wearing a Leash (But come on he really is old), he is at a stage where image is everything and imagine the embarassment it would cause him if one of his mates were to see him. Just put your self in his shoes and try to be understanding.....He's growing up and you need to let go at some point and NOW is the best time.

I don't think any child over three should be on a leash. Yes, leashes are for dogs. My child is not a dog but when she starts to walk around in stores, you better believe I would put a leash on. In a second someone could snatch her. But that would STOP around 3ish...

It's time to cut the umbilical cord and let your son grow up! He's 14 years old!

Leashes are for animals, not for children. Unless your child has some sort of mental illness or disability that requires them to wear a harness, I would recommend that you find another way. If you are worried about safety, hold his hand. It is much more loving, and shows affection not distrust and disrespect.

Your son is because hes to old for a leash. But it is the parent who makes the rules, but I recomend u forget about that leash that would be embaressing to go out in public with.Hes to old,you have to learn to trust him,i'm his age and my mom is protective but she does let me have some freedom. So mabey just try keeping an eye on him when in public!good luck sir!

He is right. Your son should not have ever had to wear a kitty leash. That is child abuse. Making him wear a leash and live in a tool shed? Please!
