"failed to connect to service. This could be due to improper proxy or firewall settings..."
i dont understand waht to do, when i click the repair button it doesnt change.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN U HELP ME!!! please tell me what i need to do to fix the problem and also i aint that good at computers so dont use that technical language that i cant understand lol.

It seems like some internet worm is creating problems. I recommend you to go for internet security programs rather than antivirus. Click on the links provided below to download two softwares named "zonealarm" and "AVG antivirus". Once you have downloaded these softwares, disconnect from internet. remove the existing versions of antivirus and msn installed on your pc from "Add or remove programs" in control panel. After that install Zonealarm and AVG and then connnect to internet and then download MSN from http://messenger.msn.com/

It sounds like your antivirus program if blocking messenger from connecting. Not sure how to fix that without actually sitting down and tinkering with it.

you anitvirus program may be blocking the msn from connecting, there should be a details list of blocked programs on you antivirus program, see if you can find one on it, have to look at everything on the list though, make sure you have the right program to unblock, wouldn't want to unblock an unsafe program, you should be able to change it if it is being blocked
