I am not sure ...but this also happens 2 me...So I just move the mouse to any corner of the window and when I see a small arrow, I pull it until it is full-screened...I hope this HELPS !!?

TellMeSup is right, the way to expand your window is easy, follow my directions..... Open a window, and look at the top right of the window, click on the little boxes next to the X, it will expand to full screen then. After that, go to File, on the top left, click on that, and choose Close. You might have to do it twice, because Bill Gates set it up so if you mistakenly make a choice, you don't have to live with it. I'm telling you the truth here, follow my advice.

Close all your windows but one. Then extend that one to the size you want and close it. Then open a new window. It should keep the last size you had.
