a change comes into effect when an equal or greater effect (pain, financial burden, or a want to do it etc..) is attached to the prior action.

sooo... you can keep telling someone something and demanding something from then but until a cost or pressure is placed upon them that is equivalent or greater so they want to or will do it, ....no change. How much effect would a speeding ticket have if there were no financial loss associated with it?

Also; some of us humans are a bit slow... sometimes we need compassion and understanding even a different approach from the crack of the whip works....

that depends on the individuall,we all grow at a different pace and often gifted in different areas,so some things we will pick up quickly others may take some time,dont expect everyone to grow at the same pace as you and if you want to remain friends, dont be judgemental
