c'mon someone should know why the new 'simpsons' episodes are so appalling, i can't enjoy them anymore. remember how homer was properly stupid. The black/white people jokes are lame, a lot of refferences to gays and lesbians which kids should already be getting familiar with and just no-good plots. Anyone ?

I agree, it is very sad. I used to love the Simpsons but it has turned into a parody of itself. I guess they put money first when they should have done the honourable thing and finished it before they ran out of ideas.

Either they ran out of ideas (unlikely because there's so much they can do) or they made a conscious decision to go a bit surreal, possibly following changes in the writing or producing team. I love the stranger episodes, I'm a big fan of the surrealist humour.

After 17 season plus the initial stint on the Tracy Ullman show, they are running out of ideas, it's hard to come up with anything clever and original when they've already taken the show as far as it can probably go.
