Yes, any meat is edible if prepped properly.
A British Cooking show actullay showed Squirrel being cooked and fed to the public (before telling them what it was). The grey squirrel is classed as a pest in the UK so anybody can legally kill one (humanley of course!). The basis of the article was that if everyone in the UK decided to eat Squirrel as there Sunday lunch the grey squirrel problem would be cured in a couple of months!

Humans are meat eaters as well as vegetables and other foods. Most animals are edible and are eaten some place on this planer. Every day at the market here where I am there are a couple of tables with cooked rat for sale. People do buy them and eat them. I haven't as far as I know but I do and have eaten foods that I had no idea what they were prepared from. I have eaten dog a couple of times but would rather not. Nothing wrong with eating meat. We need the protein that meat gives us.

I have personally eaten giraffe at 'carnivore' a restaurant in Kenya that used to sell all sorts of game meat (ostrich, eland, crocodile) from local ranches, it can no longer do this as laws have changed. The only mammalian 'meat' that I'm aware of that is poisonous is the liver of the polar bear (too much vitamin A, or was that D?). I know of peolpe who have eaten squirrel, with mixed reviews!!!! There is a thriving market in much of Africa for'bush meat' which can be anything from hippo, elephant, monkey and even gorrillas and chimpanzees!!!!Whether it tastes good is an intirely differnt matter.

you are so nice, as a vegetarian i thank you. i wish more people like you were on this site.
anyway yes you can eat pretty much any meat, some people even eat insects. there are places in asia, where they eat rats. some people eat dung beetles, so you see how wide the spectrum is. in russia it's perfectly normal to eat rabbits, most people don't but it's not thought of as strange. remember the french eat frogs and snails. you can eat pretty much anything. what's normal is determined by the society you live in.
sorry if i was a bit lengthy.
p.s. some people eat cats.

There are several recipes on line for squirrel, and possibly giraffe as well. Some meats are much tougher then others, but AFAIK there are no animals whose emat is poisonous to humans, some fish, however are a different matter.

Well I have to tell you. Being raised in the south back in the time where we didn't make much money. Everything we put on the table we hunted for. Which includes rabbit, squirrel, possum and anything that flew over head. Hope this helps.

A person can eat pretty much any meat as long as it's cooked. But some , like a jack rabbit for instance have horrible, rotten flavor.
