Hot wax is the wax you heat up in the microwave. Be sure not to put it on if it's bubbling, because then it's too hot.
Cold wax is the wax that are on the strips. The ones you rub together in your hand and then apply.

cold wax need not to be heated at the time of use but hot wax must be heated at the time of use
