it depends on where it is .i have found that on furniture you can remove even black marker pen with aerogaurd .

The only thing I use for stuff like that is the product goof-off. you can get it for the wall, that is safe for latex stuff, like paint.Their are several kinds so read the labels. I use it for gum in the rug and when the boys for get to take out the gum in their pants and then got melted in their pants in the dryer.below is the product site for more info.
