U can do it easilty provided u r using windows Xp. Just go to the start menu, then select accessories, then system tools. Here u'll have the system restore. U can easily switch to the earlier time. Dont worry, the document files that u have created after that date will not be lost... SO enjoy......

Windows XP has a roll back function.
Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore
you can pick a date and it'll restore back to then.

Use system restore or some program that give you ability to do so, for example Norton GoBack.
The problem is have you ever made the restore point?

Go to my computer, i believe under that select control panel and under control panel is system restore and you can go back to when you want it to. If the system restore is not under control panel and it should be under performance and maintenance
