Have you ever thought about the creation of the universe? Supposedly there was nothing, then there was a big bang and stars and black holes and space was born.

But if there was nothing.. just a void, then what created the bang? Where did all the space, stars, etc come from? I mean even God had to come from somewhere right? Where did he begin? How was he created? Who created god? Everything must have started somewhere at some point, but where did everything start? How did it all start if there was nothing to start it in the first place? It don't make sense!

Boggles my mind!

You're just going to have to start reading some philosophy and cosmology. There are numerous hypotheses. The Big Bang is only one hypothesis, based on the assumption that everything had to have a beginning (and ending) in time. A different assumption is that the universe is infinite in time and space (and thus always existed) and there may be local big bangs, but not one great big bang. You are assuming a finite universe that started at some time and ends at some time, but that is only one of four logically possible assumptions (the others are: (1) infinite in time and space, so never "started"; (2) infinite in time, but finite in space, so is always starting and being destroyed forever; (3) infinite in space, but finite in time, so local start and stops; and (4) finite in time and space (your initial view).

The question here is not what you believe, but what the evidence is (what the facts are), and all four views have some support and some facts against. No one knows. These are the types of questions that physicists and philosophers spend their entire lives trying to answer.

Ahhh- HA, The chicken or the egg?
I spent many days and nights talking about this one. Drunk or stoned by the way! In the end you cant answer it, and if you do you cant prove your answer. So in the end your left with what you had from the beginning. I dont really believe in God or the big bang, because I just dont know if they are real, and no matter how many people you ask or how many books you read you will never get any closer to the answer here on earth as a human. BUT heres what I do know, We are here, and we do exist, and thats proof enough for ME that there is something greater than us out there.

hope I helped some.

Not everything is SUPPOSED to make sense young man. And
for now, in this lifetime, it isnt really NECESSARY to know.
(You can go crazy with thus stuff if you wish, but what for?)
God created all. His origin is a mystery (the Lord "works in mysterious ways.) God himself said: "I am that I am that I am",
meaning, I'm not the God that was, that is, or will be, but "I
am that I am that I am"- i.e.- always been here, still is, and always
will be. The important thing to remember is He created you.
To become LIKE him, but not just yet as Him. And your mind,
our minds, cannot possibly comprehend these concepts at this
time- its' like a runway field, a fly sitting next to a 747, our
mind compared to Gods'. All we can do is endless theorizing
for now, and again, whats' the point to ask questions that for
here and now are unanswerable. Have you ever heard of
string, better yet, superstring theory? We live in three
dimensions, view everything (including concepts and questions
like these) in three dimensions. There are probably at least
15, -thats' right, 15, dimensions that advanced topology knows
of. So perhaps young man, (if you behave yourself), in the
next life or next level, or however you want to put it, you will
be enlightened with answers to all these pontifications, and
you'll be ready too. Meanwhile, "dont worry, be happy".....
And thats my FINAL answer.

You've reached the frontiers of knowledge, both science and religion. The pure vacuum prior to the big bang, the existence of multiple universes, etc. All we can do is 'observe' things happening. We can measure the galaxies travelling away from a center, we can calculate the speeds, we can observe gamma rays caused by collapsing stars, etcs, but how can we observe what happened prior to the beginning....yes its mind boggling.

I look at existence this way, we're all like characters in a story, which has a beginning and an end. We think that because of this the universe has a beginning and an end that can we understand. But just like the players in the story could not grasp their own creation and the existence of whatever/whoever created them, so we too cannot grasp beyond our own limited understanding the complexities of our own creation.

Yes it has boggled my mind about the Universe. But when I think of God's awesome powers and how he created everything from nothing, the boggling stopped. There's nothing to powerful for God. Once you know and accept him totally in your life, everything becomes clear.

First you must understand nothingness, silence, space and emptyness. You must understand what it is not to think, not to be.You must understand true deep sleep, and true conciousness of unconciousness. You must wonder where the being that is the person enters the body and thus is born. And you must understand the circle that cycles again and again. You must understand infinity, and must understand that death is rebirth. You must understand the cycle of death that only leads to life.Only then can you contemplate beginings, which after all comes from death.

One thing that we have to remember is that our very thoughts are limited to this universe, we have no idea, or way of imaging it if there is anything outside it.
It is a bit like trying to tell a blind man what red looks like and him understanding.

very boggling yes, I find that the beer will cure the boggles

one theory is that god is not a man as we portray him but instead a being beyond our comrehension and maybe so is creation. maybe we can't even grasp the thought of what he really is. i agree there has to be something to start it equations are balance nothing comes from nothing but we would need to know what started it. dam now ur gonna have me thinking deep stuff constantly this is gonna drive me nuts :)
