NO!
I had to do a report on this.
It turns out the people most likely to be gay are actually twins. Most twins are not identical. Something happens in the womb where too much of one chemical meant for one sex ends up affecting the other. This is one theory behind it that actually might be proved true in the near future.
As for the single born gays... Yo no se.
But I will say this much:
There are straights who act straight.
There are straights who act gay.
There are gays who act straight.
There are gays who act gay,
And there are a host of different variations in between.
Your question is like asking if most brown eyed people come into contact with mostly blue eyed people they will magically become blue eyed as well...

No children don't trun gay from contact with gays... .most children don't even know there gay.. there just other big people... lol Most gay people come from very strait housholds, many with little or no contact with gays.
You can't catch or pick up homesexuality....
You can make a choice to be gay if you really whant to but it wouldn't be easy for people unless they had some what gay attrations already.... it's hard to be gay if your not attracted your same sex...
Most gays are just like that... they are atracted to same sex when they become sexualy active instead of the oppist..
You CAN 'teach' homosexuality to children... much in the way heterosexuality is taught to many gays, a child can be lightly brainwahsed from birth into thinking they are gay..... A child grown up tought that being gay is right and heterosexuality is bad could over time evechaly develope homosexual thoguht patterns and the like. However if they are not gay they would hopefully realize this evechaly when they wonder why they aren't attacted to the same sex and the opisit one looks so hot, though would probly ofcorse feel something must be wrong.... *Shrugs*..... ................ Though I would really hope no one would do such a think like this.... It's bad enugh a lot of gays have to go through the opisit, don't need straits going through it too.
....... As far as gays praying on children, it's far more common for straits to do it so I would be more conserned about that if your a parent. And be carefull about letting your kid on the net (and monertring it if they do) sence right now thats how most of it happens. Big things being no personal info at all on there... NONE... and probly shouldn't let them have a myspace or something like that... Myspace is a BIG target.
Short end:
You are born strait/gay/bi....
No catching being strait/gay/bi...
No being taught being strait/gay/bi...
Your mind can be tricked into thinking that you are strait/gay/bi but it usaly don't last...

Personal experience has taught me that many homosexuals pray on children because of their vulnerability. Common practice is to gain their love and respect with gifts. Later they confide their Homosexuality. After that the way the introduce the child may very in accordance to what will work. You don't woo every woman the same do you? the same fits for the child. One technique is to tell the child that they regret not having children and just want to be a father to the child. by the way they frequently pick children from single parents. They may start out with what they call a fatherly kiss. They will also introduce them to their homosexual friends to support that it is alright to be homosexual. One gay chef I knew prayed on the bus boys. I once watched documentary where two lesbians teachers double teamed a girl to convince her that there life style was alright. And that what her parents taught her was wrong. many homosexuals once they have gained the child's confidence will ask if they have had any unusual feelings and then suggest that they may have tendencies and don't know it. It would take to long to cover everything but I think you get the drift.

You seem very interested - even though children are only children. It's quite usual for parents to care about their children, and just as usual for paedophiles to be indifferent to what children care about, because they are more concerned with their own priorities. Judges are always very clear on that point.
If an expectant woman meets a tiger on her way to work, studies show that her child will be born in due course. What she does about the tiger encounter won't have any effect on her child, unless he kills her first. The child cannot possibly be born with fur, stripes, or claws!
Straight people can't give birth to gay children of either sex.
Only women can give birth to children. To have a child, you must be a woman. The man's body decides which sex the child will be when it becomes an adult. The woman's body decides whether it can bear one healthy child or more. This has nothing to do with personal income, mental age, popularity, fame, appearance, personal intent, hopes, dreams, or financial competence.
Who would decide to be unpopular? Even parents can't or won't, not even if it's their child. Two adults who wish to have a child together have no say in the matter, much as they would like to. This is generally attributed to luck or divine will - good, bad or indifferent.
Being gay isn't hereditary. All people, mammals, insects - are born gay or straight, male or female. Sometimes, if it matters very much, a street person who has no regular income will offer to influence the odds. This usually involves eating or drinking something bitter, or making one party suffer or wait for an appointment. It always involves the flow of money from one person to another. It's an easy bet - either A or B, because 99% of your clients will deliver, and you will collect 50% of the time.
Straight or gay people know which they are, but it helps their parents to go through the phases.
You are confused - I know better.
You don't know what you are.
You are denying me grandchildren.
Oh, maybe it's still OK to love you - it's not your fault - it's a disease.
Well, what if you adopt?

Homosexuality is being taught to our children already. Sadly, but true. Children can't caught it but the affects of it can cause confusion and curiosity. Parents have the option to step in to keep this from happening especially at a young age. They can't learn from the act itself but the characteristics of some homosexuals can be detrimental such as trans-gender homosexuals dressing in woman's clothing. It is a choice to be gay. It's unnatural. No such thing as being born a gay. I was raised up with a cousin who later as an adult became gay and we are close. I'm not gay therefore no one can really be influenced by them.

You can't "catch" homosexuality...
AND IT'S NOT A CHOICE EITHER!!!
Why would someone choose to be gay? Honestly?! One of my gay guy friends wonders the same thing - if he had a choice he wouldn't choose to be gay because his life would be a lot easier if he were straight.
Ohhh it makes me mad when people say it's a choice... hence the rant.
(And I am not gay - I'm a girl and I like boys ... a lot).

No, no, no, and no. Homosexuals are born that way. They do not develop or "catch" their sexual preference. Boys raised by homosexual couples are not more likely to be homosexual than any other boys. Boys of homosexual biological fathers (yes, it happens) are not even more like to be homosexual.
Neuro-scientists have determined that a particular area of the brain of male homosexuals has a density more like that of women. They still have not found any neural anatomy that is different in lesbians, but I am betting that it will come down to a testosterone influence in utero.

sansjazz's answer is the typical hostile response you will get from the gay community when you question anything about the roots of homosexuality. I guess we're all stupid for wondering what makes a person gay. Oh, well...I still would like to know!

No, no, no.
Homosexuality cannot be taught or "caught". It isn't a disease. Besides the fact that homosexuals are born out of heterosexual unions. From the moment of their conception, they are gay. There is no choice. The only choice they have is whether or not to be themselves or pretend to be someone they aren't.

If your a woman and you are around alot of men does that mean you WILL turn into one?.....No.
Before you were born did you decide if you wanted to be a girl or a boy?....No.
Would you "choose" a lifestyle that MAY deny you from your human rights? Dammed by religious groups? Feared by people who "think" you'll sexually attack them? Get harassed, beaten or even killed for no other reason for being who you are? Would you choose to live with the thought of losing your friends and family. I think all of those answers would be NO.
