it is actuall slightly less that 24 hours, it is exactly
23 hours, 56 minutes and 4.09 seconds
that is why we have a leap year built into our calender, to offset the difference between the 24 hour clock and the actual rotational period of the earth

Earth rotates on it's axis at 23 hours 56 minutes 4.091 seconds. This is slightly less than a full day's rotation of 24 hours because a full days rotation relative to the sun is more than 360 degrees.

I don' t know if this is a trick question, but the earth always rotates and never stops... so the answer would be INFINITE HOURS.

You mean how many hours does it take for the earth to rotate around its axis? The previous dude said 3.624 but I think he meant 36.24.
