you have to have software that will remove the partition without losing your data, like partition magic, and yes, if done right by these programs, it will move the free space to c if you tell it to

Nope that space will become free space or unallocated space. This space cannot be used to store data. You have to make a new partition or expand your C drive to take up this space (I recommend Partition Magic for this)

use symantec partition magic v8 to delete partition D and resize C

you want to merge both drives, it's only possible by using partitioning software(of course if you don't want to loose your data) i 've used acronis disk director for a long time and i think that it is the most convenient prog for this!

depends on if you have two harddrives in your computer.
if you only have one with 2 partitions on it and you take out your D drive threw Computer Management it will resize it for you back to normal but if you do it threw fdisk you will have to resize it on your own.

no the space won't go to c but it just remain
like that only you can't browse to that drive(d) and it will be just hidden like that only.
