but yes, he's definitely betrayed the whole world. For no reason went to war for so called 'WMDs' in a country where million children were already malnourished, killin a whole lot of civilians and some of his own countrymen.

you must be joking all the modern enemies of this country don't wear uniforms like the IRA didn't the British and Americans do they are easily seen and show everywhere whereas the enemy doesn't. that means that the present PM whoever it had been has to make decisions on protecting you and me they will get it wrong sometimes because there is no longer an army to be seen and attack, it has to be done based on reports passed in from the field, I think he made a courageous decision putting his life on the line similar to the crusading knights of old. He didn't sell out to bush you've been brainwashed by the big businesses that are now complaining about lack of profits in these countries of high population and yet with all this talk about what a so and so Blair was for his decisions they are still pouring in here to live, why? because they know when things get tough Blair or someone like him will protect them. Also many other countries would have joined if their subsidies were put up !!! leaving less for the average person in the UK who always seem to take the knocks for everything. In my opinion you are wrong Blair did not try to betray his country as a father he tried to make decisions that would make a better future for his family and ours whether an individual act was right or wrong only history will tell.

What I think is a better question regarding Tony Blair is, what kind of dirt does the Bush family have on him that they've been able to blackmail him with? I mean, obviously they have him by the balls...Blair has gone along with everything Bush has wanted. Why? Even when he goes against his own party -and the majority of Britons- he sides with Bush. It all strikes me as being very sinister...what skeletons in Tony Blair's closet (and c'mon, he must have some, we all do) did somebody like Karl Rove stumble across and pass along to the Bushes? I think Tony Blair betrayed himself and his values and morals long before he betrayed his country. Look at how nine years in office have aged the guy...he still looked like a fresh faced youngster when he took office...not anymore. And I thought the presidency aged Bill Clinton...

I disagree. Like other countries in the coalition he has the power to withdraw his troops, like Italy will be doing, and like the Ukraine and Romania and Spain already have done.

Before World War II Churchill was considered a traitor to his country for wanting war with Germany. he is now considered a hero.

Similarly I think history will be extremely kind to Tony Blair for being a strong and principled man, who frankly knows more than we do on the matter.

no can't say he betrayed us, i mean they get paid money in the forces, and we pay our taxes surely, but i would rather tony blair run the country than some of the complete idiots out there, he has lots of experience and who else is going to do it? George Bush sure ain't. So give Bubba the control he needs to wipe Al-Kaidea of the face of the earth.

For me Tony Blair lost it when he stood up in the House of Commons and allowed the lie printed in that day's Sun - We're 45 minutes away from Attack - to go unchallenged.
That for me is betrayal.

Maybe he knows that Dubya is a madman and was trying to find a way to retain some influence over the jerk, even if it meant adopting the US policy.

This sort of question, though is probably best left to history, when you can look back and see what happened and why.

All politicians are traitors. They lie and cheat and never get anything done. From Julius Caesar who robbed Romans of their freedom to Bliar and Dubya, everyone in power has fallen to corruption.
