I got the hives all over my body even scalp and fingers now and itchiness is so hysteric that I've never experienced and can't sleep.

I've had same meal as usual on day before yesterday and got the hives in the night and haven't been able to sleep since then. If there's any cause that could be it is water.I kept tap water in a used prastic bottle 4 days ago and drunk it day before yesterday but can old water cause the hives??

My roomie told me it's stress but I don't know.If old water can't cause hives,I guess stress might be it.Itchiness is crazily strong and need to figure out what a cause could be before seeing a doc.

Thank you in advance for all give me an opinion;-))

Old water won't cause your hives, although you may be sensitive to something in it or on the bottle. I would suggest seeking help immediately if you have any trouble breathing. Otherwise, take some old-fashioned Benadryl. You can safely use twice as much as the label recommends for a day or two. You may never figure out a cause, but you don't need to in order to see a doctor--who may never figure out the cause, either, but who can administer the Benadryl IV and deliver MUCH faster relief. Good luck.

could be stress or an allergic reaction. if you haven't washed or cleaned the bottle it is possibly from bacteria.
Actually I meant to say to go see a doc too.
and to whomever said that tap what is bad in its own way is wrong. Tap water is regulated and has to pass specific standards whereas fancy bottled water has poorer regulation restrictions.

I am thinking that if the bottle was not clean .. then it may be bacterial .. an odd rash?
same if you have lousy tap water .. recent flooding?
or again, bacteria, if the bottle was not securely capped.
Why take a chance..? see a doc.. or at least give a call.

Standing water is a perfect breeding ground for many microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and molds. They can cause disease or trigger allergic reactions in many individuals. Problems with infectious diseases can also occur.

It's probably the old plastic bottle you used, most likely leached into the water you were drinking. Try using glass bottle containers instead.

It depends, most tap water is unhealthy in its own way but, there could have been something in it that you were allergic to, perhaps somthing in the pipe? or was there something in the bottle before you filled it with water? maybe something got into it, idk just think if you're allergic to anything

It could be stress, or.........

Aquagenic urticaria - a type of hive triggered by contact with sweat or with water.
