Depends on the pipe material. Supply or drain lines? A bit more info would be helpful. It may be as simple as discoloration in the water (rusty) when first turned on which generally dissipated quickly with iron pipes. Or it could be a bit more involved with copper and plastic(PVC). If you are having issues with your supply or drain lines, and are concerned, you may want to employ a plumber to evaluate the plumbing in the home.

Low water pressure, dirty looking or rusty water when you first turn it on, slow drains that don't seem to unclog no matter what kind of drain opener you use.
