Sprinkle diatomic earth around your patio. Hope this helps. You can also go the beer route, it works, too. But make sure your pets won't get to it. That's why I put the beer in small drink bottles. Make a shallow depression to lay the bottle in. Next morning , just throw away with the dead slugs. Don't use salt, it's not good for your grass or plants.

For an organic approach, place little dishes of stale beer around your deck. The slugs are attracted to the smell and will crawl into the dishes and drown. Also there are sprays and powders you can put around the deck. Good luck.

DON'T SERVE THEM BEER,OR LET THEM WATCH SPORTS AND THEY'LL GO HOME. FOR THE NATURAL TYPE YOU CAN PURCHASE SLUG BAIT AT HARDWARE STORES. PUT IT AROUND THE OUTER EDGE OF YOUR PATIO.

they are very opposed to salt.. dries up their slimy method of movement.. I would suggest washing it all down with some strong home made salt water.. just be careful if you have cats or dogs around.. it will dry up their paws as well and will lead to uncomfortable cracking of thier soft padded feet
Good Luck :)
